Nestled in the foothills with a spectacular view of the blue Santa Barbara Mountains, cooled by ocean breezes, ringing with the genial laughter of family and friends, and typifying the gracious, relaxed and respectful service you are right to expect, Wood Glen Hall is a home you can make your own. Built in 1956 by Adrian and Ailene Wood, Wood Glen Hall is a non-profit independent and assisted-living community. We are a uniquely supportive retirement residence, whose mission is to provide a superior, affordable option for seniors.
Wood Glen Hall is built on a single level, comprised of sixty-three private rooms, on four beautifully landscaped acres at the edge of a quiet and attractive neighborhood. Residents can enjoy seasonal trees and flowers in our gardens year-round. In addition to several lovely courtyards, our manicured grounds include a quarter-mile walkway for the residents’ exercise and pleasure. Patios are scattered throughout formal and informal garden areas, ideal for relaxation or for entertaining visiting friends and family. Our activity coordinators arrange many types of entertainment. Art, music, crafts, exercise and games of all kinds are available, and Wood Glen Hall’s private bus makes transportation to assorted special events comfortable and effortless.
Each of our spacious rooms features a lovely patio view for a sense of indoor and outdoor living. Three delicious meals are served daily in our charming and spacious dining room, which opens onto its own courtyard for eating al fresco during the summer months. Throughout the winter, our residents enjoy the coziness of fireside-dining. There are also two smaller private dining rooms, the Garden Room and the Tea Room, which are available for residents’ use to entertain family and friends. Wood Glen Hall boasts an onsite Library, which also includes a grand piano and a cinema-size flat screen television, where our residents often gather after dinner to enjoy a concert or a movie. Additionally, Wood Glen Hall has a Computer Room, a Billiards Room, a Bridge Room and a Game Room, all for resident use.
Our amenities make Wood Glen Hall a wonderful place to live, but it is the loving and kind staff that makes Wood Glen Hall a home.
Words will never adequately express the gratitude I feel for all the loving care and kindness my mother experienced. She loved where she lived and she told me so often. The support and understanding I received, right to the end, meant the world to me. With love and deep appreciation,Eva Ein
